Chief of Police: Jessie S. Powers

Chief Jessie S. Powers, has the distinction of being the longest serving police chief currently serving as chief in the State of Tennessee. Chief Powers was hired in September 1970, when Gordon Turner, Sr. was serving as mayor. During his term as chief of police, he also ran the water plant, read water meters, filled pot holes, drove the garbage truck route, gathered garbage, worked summer youth around town and served as volunteer fireman.

City Court meets 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00PM.
